Drafting is a graphic language that produces drawings which are representations of objects, ideas, or designs to be manufactured or constructed. Today drafting cuts across many disciplines and levels of technologies. The responsibility of a drafter is to use information from engineers, designers, and planners to create computer models and working drawings - with appropriate cores and standards - to ensure the product is correctly manufactured or constructed.

this program can provide you with the training and education you need. All of the classes offered in the drafting program count towards the completion of the Associate in Applied Sciences (AAS) degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, and can also be transferred towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology as offered by Old Dominion University (ODU).
