May 10, 2005 - Sorry for the delay. The final grades have now been posted. Head on over to the grade page and follow the directions. And yes, the extra credit has been added to the last test of the people that earned extra credit. May 9, 2005 - I've been delayed/tardy in getting your grades posted. I hope to return to campus this evening and post them (electronically) with a link from your announcement page. May 4, 2005 - (3:25 PM) BlackBoard is back up! May 4, 2005 - (2:25 PM) Will be out of town Thursday and Friday. Over the weekend I'll finish calculating your grades and post them on the grade page (linked from here and the homepage). May 4, 2005 - (1:25 PM) When BlackBoard does become available, I'll get on and extend the deadline to Thursday afternoon. May 4, 2005 - It's on days like today that they should call the old axiom "Murray's Law" and not Murphy's Law. Apparently BlackBoard has hit some sort of bottleneck effect and is running very slow this morning. I have been told that BlackBoard specialists are working on the problem and hope to have it resolved soon. In the meantime, please try back frequently and in the future... please don't wait until the last day to accomplish any of your tasks. March 17, 2005 - Will be out of the office on Friday (March 18, 2005). February 26, 2005 - Your grades have been posted (see Grades link on our homepage). Please note that I've instructed the computer to drop the lowest investigation and test grades. If you score lower on an investigation and/or test grade then the lowest assessment will be dropped and the previously dropped grades will come back into play. February 23, 2005 - Announcement from our lab support guy on campus
February 18, 2005 - Time to get started on your cybersaturday lab assignments. Start by going to the cybersaturday link (see February 26 on your schedule) and printing out the first two tables on the different tissues making up the human body (note: you'll be printing all those worksheets listed on that page and bringing them to lab on February 26). Next, visit the two links provided to observe the different tissue types. Sketch out simple drawings of the tissues and do your best to understand where the tissues are located in the body and the functions they perform. We will do this together during our Saturday lab but at a pace that assumes you've already done the background work yourself. February 14, 2005 - I'll be out of town on Tuesday (February 15) for what I hope to be my last presentation of season. Arborists hold their big meetings in the winter (for obvious reasons). This year I have been lucky enough to speak to many large annual conferences and professional organizations in the green (landscaping) industry. In addition to teaching biology I'm also in charge of BRCC's arboriculture program and this is my way of recruiting. January 29, 2005 - I'll be out of town from Monday through Wednesday evening. I won't be able to respond to e-mails or phone calls during this time. January 27, 2005 - I'll be out of the office on Friday (January 28, 2005). Please e-mail if you have a question... I should be able to respond throughout the day. January 21, 2005 - That completes our second week together. Are you settled in? Have you recorded the test/quiz dates in your personal calendar? One quick announcement... I'm changing my office hours on Monday and Wednesday for the next month... until February 21 I'll move my office hours to 3 PM - 5 PM (for Monday and Wednesday). Naturally, anytime you have a question please post it the BlackBoard discussion board, e-mail me directly or call. January 13, 2005 - Well, well, well... here we go. Y'all should be logging onto BlackBoard and taking your practice quiz and saying "howdy" on the discussion board. Y'all should also be listening to those lectures (from the CD) and answering the questions that I've assigned from the schedule page. Don't worry about turning in those questions... consider them your lecture notes. I'll be out of the office on Friday but should be able to respond to BlackBoard postings and e-mail late Friday evening. January 6, 2005 - Welcome Cyberstudents! Soon, you will be receiving a letter in the mail calling your attention to some important information concerning this course. Please log onto BlackBoard and post a "Howdy" message introducing yourself to your fellow cyberstudents. |
