I.      COURSE DESCRIPTION

Continues to develop fluency through emphasis on idioms and other complex sentence structures. Prerequisite SPA 211 or equivalent.

 

II.     STUDENT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

 

(A)  The student will use Spanish in the class.

(B)   The student will continue to develop spoken proficiency.

(C)  The student will increase reading, writing and listening levels

(D)   The student will use review grammar points as per text and as needed.

 

This is an elective course that may apply to the college/university transfer
program, nursing and health programs, or personal development.

 

III.                   EVALUATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

1.         Attendance and conversational assignments count as your participation grade which equals one third of your grade. The conversational assignments will deal with a story from  Album

        Invited speakers will contribute to your listening and speaking skills

2.         A one page typed double spaced based on topics of interest to the class or by instructor.  These will receive a grade. The average of these count 1/3 of your grade.

3.         The final exam will be taken on Wednesday, December 13 if I can find a room. The final exam is 1/3 of your grade.

 

Attendance Policy:  The student is required to attend all class meetings. Roll is taken in each session. It reflects your participation grade. The participation grade averages with the selftests. Please call instructor with emergencies and/or appointments.

 

Grade Determination: 90-100 = A, 80-89= B, 70-79 = C, 60-69=D, below 60=F

Gradable Content: 

Attendance and self tests = 30 %

                                    3 Tests = 30%

                        Final exam = 30%

                                    TOTAL = 100%
