*New course: English/Spanish for Occupations/Professionals is a course for law enforcement, medical personnel, teachers, health workers, nurses, business, and other professionals. At this level, it is a matter of individualized vocabulary specific terms, yet many terms cut across lines. Both speakers of Spanish and Speakers of English would be enrolled in the class which could be a bilingual class.
** Best completed in the summer session following the completion of all courses/ or no earlier than completion of Spa 202. BRCC’s Spanish in Costa Rica is preferred. Other immersion experiences may be accepted with prior permission of the director of Spanish studies at BRCC.

**Best scenario to take this class the completion of all courses. The internships will be completed within the community where interpreters are needed, but there will also be some form of in-home experience with an English speaker. The reason for this is that Spanish speaking students may grow up learning English, but may not necessarily learn the local culture from the perspective of the English speaking home.
